Registered Music Together Teacher- 2025

Meet Mrs Mary Solanik! Mary has been a music educator for a decade- serving students in public schools from kindergarten through 8th grade. She holds a degree in Music Education from Rowan University as well as a “Teacher of Students with Disabilities “ endorsement. Currently she is a full time music teacher in the Berkeley Township School District- spending her days with students in kindergarten- 4th grade as well as leading the 4th grade band & 4th grade chorus programs. Additionally, she serves as one of the school’s drama club instructors. Outside of school she plays flute regularly with the South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble.

Mary has always loved the Music Together program since studying with its founder at Rowan University. However, she got to see its true magic first hand when she became a parent and began bringing her 16 day old daughter to class. In the constant haze of postpartum exhaustion, music class became a designated time of peace and connection- both with her child and with fellow local parents. She truly believes that class is just as important for the adults as it is for the children. Now that that baby has so quickly become a toddler -music class is still a point of connection that unites their family far beyond the confines of the 45min class.

Mary resides in southern New Jersey with her husband, their daughter Aurora (Rory), and their bernedoodle (Grux). When not teaching music you can find her family on the beach, on hiking trails, or riding bikes to their favorite local coffee shops.

Registered Music Together Teacher- 2025

John has a musical background of playing guitar, piano, drums and singing. He began as a young child at age 4 with piano lessons from his grandfather and moved on to other instruments. Ultimately leading to performing hundreds of venues and multiple festivals such as Vans Warped tour, writing and recording original music with bands and solo music.  While the rockstar ambitions didn't pan out, music always remained a focal point for John.  He began teaching guitar, piano and drum lessons throughout his 20's and quickly realized the rewards of passing on the gift of music to others, especially children.

Fast forward to 2025, having started a family and being a father to two beautiful daughters, Lily and Magnolia. Having the opportunity to pass his musical traits on to his daughters is one of his biggest joys. He and his daughters became students of Music Together at the Shore just about 2 years ago. John then realized how important the experience he and his daughters received from this program is, and then in turn wanted to become a teacher to help spread this positive musical bonding experience with as many families as possible.
